The Optimist Training Regatta races, which are a preparation and test race for the 2022 Arkas Optimist World Championship, have ended with the award ceremony that took place today.

The Optimist Training Regatta races, which are a preparation and test race for the 2022 Arkas Optimist World Championship, have ended with the award ceremony that took place today.

Twenty-four clubs and 108 sailors from 12 countries attended, which has hosted B.B Bodrum Spor Sailing Branch. The participating countries are the USA, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Hungary, Malta, Serbia, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, and New Zealand.

Erik Scheidt of Lithuania's Fraglia Vela Riva Club was first, Weka Bhanubandh of Thailand's Thoda Royal Varuna Yacht Club was second, and Gilman Hackel of America's Team Happy Club was third in the Optimist Overall.

Medina Havva Tatlıcan from the Turkish National Team took first place, Derin Değişen from the Era Bodrum Sailing Sports Club took second place, and Olha Lubianska from the Optimist Ukraine National Team took third place in the Optimist Girls Category.   

Junior category awards go to Nathan Soper from Murray's Bay Sailing Club of New Zealand took within te first place, Mert Cakmak from Çeşme Sailing Youth And Sports Club of Turkey took second place and Mehmet Erkut Budak from Istanbul Sailing Club of Turkey took third place.

Yağmur Öztekin from Heybeliada Water Sports Club of Turkey came first place, Zeynep Özer from Yalikavak Sailing Club of Turkey came second, and Ahnieshka Madonich from Optimist Ukraine National Team came third in the Junior Girls category.

America, Ukraine, and Thailand became the first three countries to receive the Optimist Cup of Nations award, a unique Turkish Sailing Federation award. The Teams Happy Club from America came first place, the Optimist Ukrainian National Team came second, and Thailand's Thoda Royal Varuna Yacht Club came third.
